The Meaning of Tae Kwon Do

Student Creed

Testing is a process in which we evaluate the skills of a student to determine whether they are ready to progress to the next level of training. Testing helps to develop confidence and self esteem. Every three to four weeks, student are given the opportunity to gain a stripe. Each stripe represents another requirement achieved on the journey to their next belt level. Expectations of a student depend on the age, rank, and physical ability. These expectations increase dramatically as the students progress in rank. To be promoted to the next belt level, the student must earn at lest three stripes. This teaches students how to set goals and achieve them. After the requirements for the next belt have been met, each student must pass a belt test before they can attend a graduation, at which the students have the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned to their family and friends.

Teens

Martial arts can provide this age group, 13 to 16 with the chance to become stronger and more flexible to improve their overall health and self image. They will come to recognize the rewards of hard work and discipline that can give them the confidence to withstand negative peer pressure. By having respect for their bodies and minds they are less likely to fall prey to substances or engage in activities that can destroy their health.

Adults

The adult class maximizes your fitness and moves you through the belt levels to your ultimate goal of black belt.
